Textile Clothing Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia

THE Textile, Clothing and Footwear Resource Centre (TCF WA) located at the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. continues to grow from strength to strength since being established in 1998. Currently, in excess of 1500 TCF businesses in WA are listed with TCF WA indicating a real need for this resource in Western Australia. Requests are now coming from across Australia and overseas to link up with this exciting and innovative TCF Centre. TCF WA remains the first of its kind in Australia and was established to provide support for the textile, clothing, footwear and leather industry.

TCF WA provides support and specialised resources such as a library containing International trade publications, monthly magazines and fashion forecast videos; Advice and guidance for textile artists, designers and raw mateal suppliers; Knowing where to start and who to contact is vital, TCF WA has the contacts to help. Many areas of the TCF industry are located on the east coast of Australia which is seen as a disadvantage for West Australian firms in terms of conducting business over large distances. TCF helps by advising on cost reduction methods. TCF WA also assists with facilitation of projects that stimulate the existing industry in WA.

TCF Resource Centre of WA is supported by Belmont Business Enterprise Centre(BEC) which is a non profit community organisation which assists people to start a new business, or improve an existing one.

Other projects established by the Belmont BEC include the Belmont Clothes Library, a lending library of garments for unemployed persons attending job interviews and MultiCultural Business Support Services providing specialised multicultural workshops.
