Western Australian Designers in Sydney

The Australian Designer Showcase is yet another project put together by TCFWA that provides Australian designers with national and international opportunities. In 2002 this project was launched with the opportunity for nine Australian designers to exhibit their labels at the 2002 Fashion Exposed Trade Fair. Since then over 70 designers have participated in the Australian Designer Showcase projects across Australia and overseas.

This year eight Australian Designers will be showing their range to the buyers of Australia.

This season’s exhibitors include:-

  • AnnieWho Collection – watches, handbags, wallets, jewellery, daywear, casual clothing & evening wear
  • Aquarelle & Little Miss Aquarelle – resort wear using hand worked embroidery & beading embellishments inspired by indigenous art for Women, and girls sizes 2-10
  • Cherie Hewson’s Great Pretender – coats for individuals, using hemp fabrics, ticking edging and faux fur
  • Colour Spirit – scarves, shawls and accessories
  • ONJA – revolutionary extreme sportswear using new high tech “Cool PlusTM” fabrics

The aim of the Australian Designer Showcase project is to provide awareness, marketing and promotional opportunities and market access assistance to Western Australian and national fashion design firms in the domestic and international markets. It also aims to develop relationships and establish network contacts with TCF Industry organisations in these markets.

The Fashion Exposed Trade Fair gives labels from around Australia the chance to promote their Spring/Summer 2005 range to more than 8000 trade fair visitors. Amongst these visitors are independent retailers, chain stores and department stores all interested in discovering new designs and smart ideas in fashion. Buyers will be impressed with the broadest range of Spring/Summer apparel on show from over 400 Australian wholesalers and designers.

The Fashion Exposed Trade Fair runs, Australia's largest all encompassing business event for the Fashion Industry being held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour and runs from Sunday 6th March to Tuesday 8th March 2005. Hours of trade will be Sunday 6/3 10am-6pm, Monday 7/3 9am-6pm, Tuesday 8/3 9am-4pm.
