TCF Global Support Centre Network
The Textile Clothing Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia Inc (TCFWA) is pleased to announce the inception of the TCF Global Support Centre Network on August 1st, 2007, to coincide with the launch of the Designedge National Training and Mentoring Project and the Belmont Small Business Awards
The official launch of this unique concept will be at the World Boutique fashion event, Hong Kong in January 2008.
The community based project aims to assist small and emerging fashion designers in sourcing networks of fashion support organisations that would provide links for new and/or small volume independent fashion designers.
The network will bring designers together with small volume manufacturers, raw materials, fashion incubators, TCF / fashion designer associations, fashion weeks, trade exhibitions, festivals, fashion competitions and fashion events staged around the world.
TCF Global will also promote professional standards in ethics and business and aid designers with fashion and business growth, via specially run projects and programs.
Manager of TCFWA, Carol Hanlon says, “The TCF Global network is very exciting as it will encourage emerging designers to fulfil their potential by limiting the obstacles attributed to starting and growing a successful business.”
TCFWA are also very excited about the TCF Global Village Community Projects that showcase selected community projects in other countries and aim to assist women in starting small sewing business in developing countries.
As a part of these projects TCFWA are currently equipping 110 community centres in regional Philippines with donated sewing machines and textiles to assist women to start their own sewing businesses.
